Cognitive Behavioural Therapy [CBT] is a solution focused therapy used to explore the links between your thoughts, feelings and behviours, with an outcome of solving problems, initiating change, learning new skills and testing out new ways of being.
Using this approach you work together with the therapist to identify area's of your life that cause you difficulty and work together to remove barriers to your progress, unhealthy or irrational thinking is explored and replaced with healthy and more logical thinking.
CBT works by focusing on current difficulties rather than issues from the past, developing practical ways to improve and change. Overwhelming problems are broken down into smaller parts such as thoughts, physical feelings and actions. Following sessions clients have the opportunity to test out new ways of being by practicing in every day life inbetween sessions.
